Separate the claim from the wording
Before polishing a carousel, list the statements that could be checked. A smooth sentence can still contain a made-up result. Review numbers, product capabilities, customer quotes, comparisons and platform rules separately from opinions or creative framing.
For each factual claim, record its source, date, scope and owner. If evidence is missing, investigate it or remove the assertion. Rephrasing an unsupported claim with a confident tone does not improve it.

Scroll the table horizontally if all columns are not visible.
| Draft claim | Problem | Useful revision |
|---|---|---|
| Teams save 10 hours every week | No measured customer study | Show the steps the workflow combines; remove the time claim. |
| Our customer doubled signups | Fictional testimonial presented as evidence | Label it as a fictional scenario and describe the workflow without an outcome statistic. |
| This always fixes blurry uploads | A conditional fix is presented as certain | If the downloaded file is already blurry, check the source image and export settings first. |
| The platform accepts this format | No current official source | Check the platform documentation and record its scope and verification date. |
Keep evidence close to the slide
A source note should identify what it supports, rather than merely listing a familiar website. If a study describes one sample or market, preserve that limit in the copy. Do not turn a vendor's own case study into a general result for every customer.
A screenshot can demonstrate an interface state; it does not prove a conversion lift. A generated illustration can explain an idea; it is not a photograph of an actual customer result.
Use a review worksheet
- Claim: copy the exact sentence and slide number.
- Type: fact, estimate, opinion or fictional example.
- Evidence: a direct source or an internal measurement with permission to use it.
- Scope and date: who, where, when and under what conditions.
- Decision: keep, qualify, replace or remove.
- Owner: the person responsible for checking it before publishing.
Review the export again
After design, check that citations remain legible and that a cropped screenshot has not removed important context. Read the headline with the source note: they should make the same claim. A checklist reduces avoidable mistakes, but does not guarantee accuracy. Give sensitive or consequential statements an appropriately qualified reviewer.
